Zsctrip.com is a non-official website mainly introduce the zhoushan tourism and the ocean culture. It was open in 1,1 2006 by the Shengdao Network Department. Our objective is to Spread the Zhoushan culture, discovers the travel spot of thousand islands.

About zhoushan

China's largest archipelago,Zhoushan is a developing port and island city in China.It is located in the island of the middle of the "Zhoushan Fishery" one of the world's four largest fisheries. It lies in the central part of China's coastline,and is only tens of nautical miles away from Shanghai, the largest commercial city in China. (31/02'-29/34' North Latitude and 121/27' -123/08' East Longitude)

Covering a total area of 22,000 square kilometres and with a population of 980,000, Zhoushan is embraced by 1,339 islands including the 502-square-kilometre Zhoushan Island which is the largest,and is a little bit larger than Hong Kong.

Reputed as the "fishing capital of China",Zhoushan city is highly developed in marine products processing industry,with an annual output of marine products totalling 1 million tons.

It has a monsoon marine climate with an annual tempereture averaging 16 degrees Centigrade. Worm in winter and cool in summer,Zhoushan is a pleasant place with beautiful scenery. Within Zhoushan Municipality,there are 2 state-level scenic resorts--Putuo Island and the Shangsi Island, 2 provincia-level scenic areas--Mount Dai and Taohua Island. Sea, sunshine, beach and Buddhist culture compose the unique sea and hill views of Zhoushan.The city has altogether 20 travel agencies and 20 hotels catering to foreign nationals,receiving more than 2.8 million tourists each year.

Zhoushan is also one of the best natural deepwater ports in China. With 164 kilometres of coastline which is over 10 metres deep, it is really an ideal place for construction of a large-scale deepwater port. Now there are 6 10,000-tonnage berths and 112 500-tonnage berths. The Xingzhong Oil Transportation Co., Ltd. attached to China National Chemical Import and Export Corporation built a 200,000- tonnage oil wharf in Daishan,Zhoushan. the 318,000- tonnage super oil tanker--"LAMPAS" of U.K. succeeded in anchoring the wharf, being the first time in China. The cost of construction for the wharf is the lowest among those of its kind in China.

Zhoushan city is developed in such industries as ship repairing and building, electronics, light and textile industries, food and medicine. Some of its brand name products are quite competitive in international and domestic markets. It has trading relationship with 49 countries and regions over the world.

The investment environment in Zhoushan City is fairly good. At present, there are more than 100 Sino-foreign joint ventures and 6 solely foreing funded enterprises in the city. Its installed capacity amounts to 103,000kw. The 2X12.5kw power station which is under construction will go into operation in 1997, with a total water storage capacity of over 100 million cubic metres. The city is well equipped with both international and domestic telecommunications facilities.Twenty-nine out of 100 people have a telephone. It has a complete range of communications facilities. There are 59 shipping lines on the sea. It takes only about 2 hours to get to Shanghai from Zhoushan. The construction of the civil airport will be completed by the end of 1996. Within the city there are well-established institutions catering to foreign affairs like costomhouse, commodity inspection and testing bureau, and departmetn for quarantine of animals and plants. In addition, there are a complete range of service organs including banks, insurance companies, low firms and public notary offices,etc..

Between July 31, and August 1 of 1996, the China State Marine Bureau and the People's Government of Zhoushan will joinly hold '96 China Zhoushan International Fair for Invitation of Investment in Marine Development and will provide 115 projects for investment covering communication, port, tourism, industry, commerce and trade, agriculture and forestry, fishery and urban construction. Zhoushan Archipelago
(jō-shän) , NE Zhejiang prov., China, in the East China Sea, at the entrance to Hangzhou Bay. It includes the main island of Zhoushan and about 100 lesser islands; Dinghai on Zhoushan is the major population center. The archipelago forms the richest fishing grounds off the China coast. The island of Putuo was a sacred center of Buddhism, with many ancient temples and monasteries. The name sometimes appears as Chou-shan Archipelago.
